The evening primrose belongs to the Onagraceae Family and is a perennial herb. Its flowers are mostly white or pink, with a unique fragrance. True to its poetic Chinese name "moon-viewing grass", these ephemeral flowers perform a nightly ballet - unfurling their petals at dusk and retreating with the morning sun's first light.

月見草是柳葉菜科，屬多年生草本植物。月見草的花朵多為白色或粉色，具有獨(dú)特的香氣，通常在傍晚至夜間開放，等到第二天早晨太陽(yáng)出來(lái)，花朵若隱若現(xiàn)悄悄閉合，因此得名“月見”。

This plant is not only highly ornamental but also valued for its  medicinal properties. It is often used to regulate the body and improve skin health. Additionally, the roots of evening primrose can be used in herbal medicine, possessing anti-inflammatory and blood pressure-lowering effects.

這種植物不僅觀賞價(jià)值高，還具有一定的藥用價(jià)值，常用于調(diào)理身體、改善肌膚等。此外，月見草根還可入藥，有消炎、降血壓等功效。

Key points for identifying evening primrose flowers

1.Petals are broadly obovate, slightly notched at the apex. It exhibits "flowers before leaves".

2.Evening primrose is highly adaptive, tolerant of cold, drought, and poor soil, and prefers full sunlight.

3. The flowering period is from June to July (in warm southern regions, it may bloom as early as April, May and continue through August).

月見草花的分辨要點(diǎn)

1. 花瓣寬倒卵形，先端微凹。先開花后長(zhǎng)葉。

It was as if Monet's hazy interplay of light and shadow had been woven into reality. When a gentle breeze swept through, the entire field of flowers would ripple into undulating waves, their slender stems tracing tender arcs with every sway. Five petals, delicate as cicada wings, cradled pale yellow stamens, resembling pink butterflies ready to take flight. Occasionally, real butterflies would drift into this dreamscape, melting the boundary between living creatures and blossoms.

Strolling along the blue jogging path of Dianchi Houhai toward the Western Hills, in just a ten-minute walk, you’ll find yourself enveloped by a sea of pure white and soft pink blossoms. These evening primroses, like bashful maidens with bowed heads, burst into their brightest smiles under the sun. Some are as pure white as snow, others as soft pink as rosy clouds—each releasing a faint, sweet fragrance that gently intoxicates the senses.

沿著滇池后海的藍(lán)色跑道，往西山方向緩步前行，只需十幾分鐘，你就會(huì)被一片潔白與粉嫩的花海所包圍。這些月見草如同害羞的少女，低垂著頭，卻在陽(yáng)光下綻放出最燦爛的笑容。它們或純白如雪，或粉嫩如霞，每一朵都散發(fā)著淡淡的清香，讓人陶醉其中。

Walking straight along the blue pathway of Dianchi Greenway, after approximately 600 meters or a 15-minute walk, a dreamy sea of flowers will suddenly come into view.

After passing Dongfeng Dam, continue walking 900 meters—directly across from the red “Shuxiang Yunhai” sign—and you’ll discover another, even more spectacular sea of flowers. Here, the evening primroses bloom more densely and glow with even greater charm, as if you’ve stepped into a pink fairy-tale world.
